Tortoise Music...... This is my own little business running music workshops in schools. Most are to enhanse the curriculum and support teachers with not much confidence to teach music. I do lesson (or 1/2 day or full day) long sessions on what ever topic the teacher wants me to do although I try to base it around World Music as this is my particular area of interest. I only ever use equipment from the school itself although I do also do things like junk percussion and 'bin' drumming!
National Youth Music Camps Each summer, at the Stables, Wavendon, for four weeks, Young People and Children gather for week long music camps with the emphasis on fun and participation. In a non-competative atmosphere, all participant and staff (all volunteers) make fabulous music together and have a wonderful time. Through five sessions each day the participants play thier first and second intruments, take part in ensembles they will never have done before and all join together in a camp wide ensemble and put on a specially composed musical!
